6/30 event training

This past sunday was a great event training day.  Started out with the log cleana nd press for reps.  I definately feel weaker since my injury.  I managed to work my way up to 250lbs for 1, but that was a rough 250.  I just felt deflated.  I know I have to keep working harder on my overhead presses to make up for the ground that I lost. 

We followed th log up with yoke carry, 500x80x2, then 720x40x2.  Felt good to get that yoke.  It did feel on the heavy side.  I thought in a prior competition that I did 800 and that felt much easier than this but who knows.  Either way, have to keep improving.

After that, I did some sandbag carries because I have a competition on Aug 3rd and there is a hussafel stone carry.  I know much different but you have to train with what you have, 250lbsx120ftx2sets.  I was GASSED.

Finally, we ended the dae with some frame deadlifts from a 20" pull, just to get really heavy.  Did 550x6 and 700x4.  I have had an absolutely amazing deadlift week this past week between the frame and then hittting 675lbs from a 16" pull on the 27th.  NEW PR!

I have decided now that I am going to compete in SportsFest Strongman 5.  Since I won last year in the HW class, it only makes sense that I compete again and retain my title.  The only thing that deters me is the first event is the Circus DB C+P and that is the event that I got injured doing.  Got to overcome my fears though and just blow it away.
