To Conquer
The other day, it was suggested to me that I check out NexGen High Performance Training Center in Souderton. Well this place did not disappoint.
They had all of this equipment, a wall of power racks, boxes to do rack press out of, agility areas with field turf, and even a hill inside with field turf. I felt like I was in a college gym. This is what I have been looking for. Even a huge deal, only $20/month vs what I pay at the YMCA ($47/month).
Since all I have been doing is elliptical work, I was excited for something new. I used a free visit pass since I still have 1 more month at the Y and had a speed and agility day.
Began with hill sprints for 2 sets of 5. Then brought the ladder out and did 3 sets of each ladder drill. Followed by 2 sets of each drill with hurdles. I thought I was playing football again. After that, I ended with 2 sets of 5 more hill sprints.
I have not been this spent from cardio since my sophomore year of college when I stopped playing football. I was so beat, I couldn't lift my legs into the car. Including work like this is my training will help me completely.
This morning I got on the scale, 256 pounds!!!!! Absolutely incredible. Since my wedding in January, I have lost about 30lbs which is great, averaging about 10/month. More and more at work, people keep walking up to me and make comments about how much weight I have lost. This makes me feel incredible that it is that noticeable. This helps motivate me to keep pushing and not give up, to keep getting better, to go up, to achieve, to conquer.
